My Education Journey
"Nothing great was ever done without much enduring." -Catherine of Siena
Hello, my name is Kendal. I am a full-time student and homemaker. My husband Brandon and I have been married for four years, and we have a two-year old daughter named MaryCatherine. My family and I live in the Lake Charles area, but I am originally from Dry Creek, Louisiana.
I chose the above quote by Catherine of Siena because I believe it accurately describes my higher education journey. I have been working towards my bachelor's degree for six years! I completed my freshman year of college at Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana. I transferred to McNeese State University in the fall of 2011 as a nursing major. I later changed my major to general studies, and I received my Associates Degree in General Studies from McNeese in December 2012. After the birth of our daughter in the summer of 2013, I continued my education online and declared a major of Sociology with a Concentration in Family and Child Studies. The CALL program at McNeese has been a huge blessing, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to continue my college education online. I am looking forward to graduating on May 14, 2016!
I am looking forward to learning all of the areas and aspects of Family Life Education. I believe that this course is vital to our Family and Child Studies curriculum, as I believe it will benefit my career in any and all areas of family science or family and child studies. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful stress-free semester! Congratulations to all 2016 graduates!
